Cookie Statement Somogy
Somogy is a trading name of Grudanov Werkmaatschappij B.V., registered office at Van Moerkerkenlaan 11, 9721 TA Groningen, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 42004919, VAT number NL869244140B01 (hereinafter: “Somogy”).
This is a translation of the Dutch original, provided for ease of reading. In case of any inconsistency between the two language versions, the Dutch text prevails.
This statement applies to somogy.nl. For the use of cookies on customer websites hosted by Somogy, the customer is responsible.
1. What are cookies
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Comparable techniques include localStorage, sessionStorage and pixels. Where this statement says “cookie”, such comparable techniques are covered as well.
2. Which cookies somogy.nl sets
Somogy places only strictly necessary cookies on somogy.nl. These cookies are required for the website to function technically and for basic security measures (such as CSRF protection). They are set automatically as soon as you visit the website and cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
Somogy does not place:
- analytical cookies (no Google Analytics, Plausible, Matomo or similar);
- tracking or advertising cookies;
- social-media or embedded-content cookies from third parties (such as YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn).
3. Overview
Current set of strictly necessary cookies on somogy.nl:
| Name | Purpose | Retention | Party |
|---|---|---|---|
somogy_session | Session identifier for the contact form and for safe navigation | Session (removed when browser is closed) | Somogy (first party) |
somogy_csrf | CSRF token to prevent cross-site request forgery on the contact form | Session | Somogy (first party) |
Somogy also keeps server-side access logs (IP, URL, timestamp, useragent) with a retention period of 30 days for security and debugging purposes. These are not cookies, but are mentioned here for completeness - see the privacy statement for the legal basis.
4. Cookie banner - why Somogy does not have one
Under Article 11.7a(3) of the Dutch Telecommunications Act (implementing the ePrivacy Directive), no prior consent is required for cookies that solely serve to enable communication or that are strictly necessary for a service requested by the user. Because somogy.nl only sets such cookies, Somogy does not display a cookie banner.
Should Somogy change this policy (for instance by adding analytical or functional cookies), this statement will be amended and - where legally required - a consent banner will be introduced.
5. Cloudflare cookies on customer websites
Customers who opt into Somogy’s optional Cloudflare protection for their own website may see Cloudflare security cookies (such as __cf_bm and cf_clearance). These cookies are considered strictly necessary by the Dutch data protection authority and by Cloudflare for bot detection and access control, and do not require consent. These cookies are not set on somogy.nl itself and fall under the responsibility of the customer website on which they appear.
6. Managing or removing cookies
You can remove or block cookies at any time through your browser’s settings. General instructions per browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may mean that parts of somogy.nl (such as the contact form) no longer work correctly.
7. Changes
Somogy may amend this cookie statement from time to time. The most recent version is always available on somogy.nl.
